"Safe Neighborhoods, Safe City"

National Night Out, Layton Commons Park, August 2003

Program Information
The Layton Community Action Council partners with the Layton Citizen
Corps Council to support the Neighborhood Watch program. Neighborhood
Watch is one of the most effective and least costly means of preventing
crime and reducing fear in our neighborhoods. Through grass roots efforts,
citizens organize and educate community members to look out for themselves
and for each other. Neighborhood Watch fights the isolation that crime
both creates and feeds upon. It forges bonds among area residents, helps
reduce burglaries and robberies, and improves relations between police and
the communities they serve. By creating safer neighborhoods we make Layton
a safer city in which to live.
